Hanger Bolts
By onthehouse on March 25, 2014
With wood threads on one end and machine threads on the other, hanger bolts often are used for hanging-plant ceiling hooks. But screwing in the wood thread end with a gripping tool, such as pliers, without damaging the threads at the other end can be difficult.
There is a solution, however. The answer is to use a threaded rod-coupling sleeve. Install it onto the machine, thread-end first.
Then, using a gripping tool (pliers or wrench) screw in the bolt — without damaging the threads. Then unscrew the coupling.
