How to Remove a Bumper Sticker
How to clear your bumper when your choice goes in the dumper!
TV’s “Meet The Press” made its debut in 1947, and “Face the Nation” first aired in 1954. On both shows — then and now — candidates state their views and ask for your vote. Now it’s Election Day from coast to coast. Some candidates will win, others will be toast. If the polls are right, about half of us will be driving around tomorrow with bumper stickers telling the world we voted for the loser. To avoid this minor embarrassment, here’s how to clear your bumper should your choice go in the dumper.
You don’t have to scrape, rip and peel. Instead try heating the bumper sticker with a hair dryer for a minute or two. It should peel right off. If not, coat stubborn ones with a spray lubricant and let them sit awhile. Cold cream or mayonnaise works, too. With these tips and a little quick action, no one will ever know whether you bombed or got political satisfaction.
