At the recent kitchen and bath industry show, in Orlando Fla., 50,000 kitchen and bath pros came to see what’s hot and brand-spanking new — what’ll soon be showing up in homes. Quietly tucked in among bubbling whirlpool tubs and on gleaming walls of marble and granite was a product that until recently was considered no more than a snooty luxury import from Europe — made for the rich and famous. But lo and behold, today, towel warmers are everywhere, and in many forms.

From over-the-door models to huge wall mounts, either hard-wired or plug-in. And styling has gone posh, ranging from traditional hotel-looking chrome bars to ultramodern sleek frames, fit for the stars. To our surprise, they’re selling like hot cakes. Beyond the obvious reason — a toasty warm towel — these warmers now feature a bonus; they speed-dry a damp towel as well.
