Hampton Bay Recalls Outdoor Gas Fire Pit
If you listen to the program often enough, you’ll hear one of us say, “don’t you touch that dial”. Usually that statement is just a suggestion, but if you own the Hampton Bay Outdoor Gas Fire Pit that statement is not just a suggestion, it’s a warning.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission states that Yayi, the manufacturer of the Hampton Bay Outdoor Gas Fire Pit, has recalled this product due to a potential burn hazard. The CPSC says that the base of the fire pit is missing a heat shield. When consumers go to shut-off the propane tank, they are burned from the radiant heat. Yayi has already received three reports of consumers that were burned while attempting to shut-off the propane to this fire pit.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission suggests that consumers that own this product stop using it immediately, and contact Yayi at 855-600-9294 to request a free repair kit which includes a heat shield and instructions.
