Is It A Good Furnace at a Good Price?

Question
My father needs a HVAC system. He’s 88, and at this point don’t think he needs the highest end or most expensive, and frankly money is tight. But I need it to be reliable. What brand would you suggest? The bid he got was $6695 including labor for a Trane. I’d like to hold off committing before getting your opinion. You’re the only one I trust! Thanks so much!

Answer
Trane is one among many good brands. And the price for a new heating and air-conditioning system sounds very reasonable. Having said that, there are a few things you need to be SURE of. Is the contractor reputable? Does he pay his bills? What do his customers say about how he performs customer service? How does his price and service compare to someone else that would perform the exact same work.We don’t want to answer your question with a question, but it’s your money.
