moss removal from concrete

Question

There was a lot of rain this winter, and my yard drains backed up. Now the cement sidewalk and patio are covered with moss. Is there an easy way to get rid of it?

Kimmy, Redding CA

Answer

Buy a product used to kill weeds such as Round-Up, or a solution using bleach. Spray the moss to dry it out and kill it. Once the moss is dried out, use a pressure washer to wash it away. Also keep a nylon bristle brush on hand to remove tough spots. The moss may be difficult to clean as it has probably grown into the pores of the concrete.
