Dirty, dusty light bulbs put out 20 percent less light than clean ones, often causing you to turn on a second light and to use extra electricity.

Also, vacuum lampshades. They collect dust and also block light from shining through. With today’s higher electric prices, these two adjustments could save as much as $10 dollars worth of electricity per lamp, per year. And you’ll have better light to see by, too.
