Everything is done from above. Almost all decking material is now available with a groove along both edges of each board to accommodate the latest hidden fastening systems. Most of these systems hold the decking material slightly above the joist support so that air will pass between the two surfaces (deck board and joist) minimizing the chance of rot – a big problem for years. Also, with hidden fasteners, your deck will simply look fantastic
