Does the weather make you dream of being in Hawaii or the Caribbean? We can’t send you on vacation, but we can get you started thinking about warmerweather and your spring home maintenance. Getstarted planning your fix-ups and clean ups before the snow melts!

Before spring has sprung, take some time start planning your home a check-up.

Check The A/C

Have a qualified HVAC contractor come out to give your air-conditioning system a tune-up.

Roofs And Gutters

Clean out the leaves and other debris from your gutters. Check to see if the gutters are safely attached and haven’t sprung any leaks. Make sure that downspouts direct water away from the house foundation, to prevent a potential basement flood.

Check out the Foundation

Inspect the foundation around your house before the spring rains. Look for cracks or imperfections, and seal them or call a contractor if necessary. Tend to any standing water in the yard. These puddles can be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Seal The Deck

Inspect the wood for stains, discolorations, deterioration or warping. If you find any, repair andresealing the deck.

Ready The Soil

Rake beds of leaves and other leftover winter debris. Use a hoe to churn and loosen the soil, and mix in compost for nutrients.

Pressure Wash Your Home

Spring-clean your home’s exterior to remove accumulated dirt, mold, stains and the like from the siding, deck, sidewalks, driveway and garage floor, fences, and lawn furniture.

Repair Sidewalks and Driveways

Fix any breakdown in concrete or asphalt before it worsens. You can patch or fill surface cracks, chips or flaking in concrete yourself using cement-repair products.

Call a Chimney Sweep

The sweep will make sure that the chimney caps are in place and the damper is working properly. With a wood-burning fireplace, you can close the damper whenever the fireplace is not in use. This sweep can be done with the help of a residential chimney cleaning company.
