Noah Webster published his first dictionary in 1828. In it, he defined “thrifty” as: economical and being frugal. Sound like you? Are you a thrifty person? A bargain hunter? Someone who enjoys finding a better, less expensive way? Today you’ll learn how to have an abundance of window cleaner for less than you’re used to paying.

Necessity is the mother of invention. and, how true that was when one of our listeners ran out of regular spray window cleaner. Living in a rural area, and not wanting to drive 20 miles into town, she rummaged around seeking an alternative. In the garage she found a gallon bottle of automobile windshield washer fluid. First she tried it full strength but it was too strong. So, she tried diluting it, and found that 1 part washer fluid and 2 parts water was just right. It cleaned even better than her regular spray window cleaner. Now she watches ads to see when windshield-washer fluid is on sale — usually for 99 cents a gallon.
